Let me tell you the story about the time I lived in my first apartment in Montreal. I had this huge, cast iron clawfoot tub. Needless to say, I spent countless hours relaxing in it. It faced a small window that also served as a fire escape. Because there was no lack of privacy and I wanted natural sunlight to flood my bathroom, I never installed window coverings.
The fire escape led to an enclosed and gloomy courtyard, so no one ever used it. That is, until one morning where I just happened to be enjoying a warm and soothing soak. Apparently there had been a break-in the night before in the apartment above mine. The thief had used this neglected fire escape and police were investigating.
Although I was mortified at the time, I still crack up when I remember the policeman’s face when he came face to face with me in all my naked glory. How I wish Emma Jeffs Adhesive Window Films had existed at that moment!
