Gus Modern is currently wrapping up at the High Point Spring Market and they’ve shared photos of their showroom. As always, they’ve done an amazing job with the exhibit, showcasing some inexpensive and imaginative art work, including prints on plywood and a montage of bicycle handlebars painted in white. Not to mention great new FSC certified upholstered pieces that will soon be available on Modern Karibou. Until then, here’s a sneak peak...

We love our moms, and seeing as Mother's Day is just around the corner, we've put our thinking caps on early this year so we're not stuck buying some rinky-dink bouquet of semi-wilted flowers from a dude on some street corner.
If your mothers are like ours, they likely already have everything they need, which makes this task all the more daunting. The question to ask here should probably be: "What does she like?" rather than: "What does she need?"
Since there isn't one universal, awesome gift to fit all mothers, let's break down to the different types of moms out there, and fit the gifts to the mom-types. Ready? Go!

Very timely question as more and more people are turning to blogs for interior decorating inspiration. I think the appeal stems from the fact that people see other ‘regular’ people creating these amazing spaces, often with a limited budget, making the end result seem achievable.
Although Emma works part time as an exhibition designer, is an interior designer by trade (Marion Melbourne Interiors), and has impecable taste, the way she breaks down each project and gets her readers involved makes the whole design process less intimidating and more accessible. That approach paired with gorgeous photos of her home is why The Marion House Book blog is fast becoming one of my favourite blogs out there.

From this early exposure to fashion trends and textiles, Aimée developed the foundation for her diverse interest in design and trends. She began working as a freelance graphic designer shortly after graduating from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2001. Aimée has also worked as an in-house designer for several firms including Designspace, Dwell, and Martha Stewart Living.
Aimée draws her inspiration from contemporary graphic art and the design world. Influences include typography, logo design, illustration, textiles, urban toy design, rock poster art. Aimée’s current projects include designs for home textiles and accessories, as well as fashion and print.
