The plummeting temperatures have me dreaming of hibernating in my warm, comfortable home for the long winter we are certain to face in Canada. Sure, I could bundle up and brave the cold, but getting cozy and taking a nap sounds so much more appealing.
Recently, on a cold wintry day, I recalled an article that I read earlier this year about nap time in Scandinavia. It was published by the BBC and totally amazed me. In it the authour, Helena Lee, talked about how Swedish parents leave their babies outside to nap in sub-zero temperatures and how effective it is for rest time. Parents cited better health and longer sleeps among the benefits of outdoor napping. With a climate so similar to ours, I wonder if this approach may work for our babies too. Would you give it a try with your child?
