At Modern Karibou we get really excited about Canadian design. Recently, I have been noticing some amazing creative minds that are making waves in the design world. I'm pleased to feature a Canadian architecture team called L'OEUF Architects, and a Canadian fashion designer named Jeremy Laing. Check them out!
L'OEUF Architects was founded in 1992 and calls the cosmopolitan city of Montreal home. The team strives for sustainable design with a social conscience, and succeeds with truly remarkable results. L'OEUF won the prestigious HOLCHIM Foundation international prize for their 'Greening the Infrastructure at Benny Farm' project. Here is a taste of some of their work:
Jeremy Laing is a fashion designer based out of Toronto. He graduated from Ryerson University's School of Fashion in 2002 and hasn't looked back. Laing's love for art is evident in the geometric and finely tailored pieces that he creates. Laing is a Canadian designer with lots of international experience and influences, and is a regular fixture at New York Fashion Week. Here are a few favourites from his Spring/Summer 2014 line:
